Feslikancı Kız
Bir varmış bir yokmuş Evvel zaman içinde kalbur saman içinde Mine adında çok güzel bir genç kız yaşarmış Mine’ nin babası çiftçilikle uğraşır, evinin geçimini oldukça büyük tarlasını ekip biçerek temin edermiş Mine ev işlerinde annesine yardımcı olur boş zamanlarında ise evlerinin önündeki bahçede fesleğen çiçeği yetiştirirmiş Bahçedeki fesleğenlerin kokusu uzaklardan hissedilir ve yüreklerde ferahlık sağlarmış
Padişahın oğlu Şehzade Selim fırsat buldukça atına biner dağlarda, ovalarda gezermiş Günlerden bir gün; yolda giderken ilerden bir yerden burnuna çok güzel fesleğen kokuları gelmiş İçinde bir merak uyanmış ‘ Acaba bu kokular nereden geliyor?’ diye Kokunun kaynağına ulaşmaya karar vermiş Gitmiş Gitmiş Sonunda bir evin önündeki bahçede fesleğenleri görmüş Bakmış bahçede güzel bir genç kız fesleğen topluyor Kır atını bahçenin kenarına kadar yaklaştırmış ve kıza seslenmiş:
“ Feslikancı kızıFeslikancı kızıFesleğenin yaprağı kaç?”
“ Okursun yazarsın beyim gökteki yıldız kaç?” demiş kız
Bunun üzerine Şehzade Selim:
“ Bu dünya, bu güneş bu yıldızlar hep bilmece
Döner devr-i alem kimi gündüz kimi gece
Bilemez kimse bugün nicedir yarın nice
İsmini bağışlar mısın olsun dilimde hece” deyince kız da:
“ İsmimi sorarsın saklamam söylerim: Mine” demiş
“ Mine isimli güzel kız bil bakalım ben kimim? “
“ Kır atınla gezersin ya beysin ya paşasın…”
“ Bilemedin güzel kız ben Şehzade Selim’ im…”
Deminden beri söyleştiği yakışıklı delikanlının Şehzade Selim olduğunu öğrenen Mine haliyle çok şaşırmış Bir şeyler söylemek istemiş fakat heyecandan ne diyeceğini bilememiş Annesinin kendisini çağıran sesini duyunca heyecanı kaybolmuş Şehzade’ ye “ Annem çağırıyor hemen şimdi gitmeliyim” demiş ve koşarak uzaklaşmış Daha sonraki günlerde Şehzade Selim ile Mine görüşmeye devam etmişler Bir gün Mine Şehzade’ yi anne ve babasıyla tanıştırmış Mine’ nin anne ve babası Şehzade’ nin kendilerine karşı gösterdiği yakınlıktan ve saygıdan memnun kalmışlar Şehzade Selim uygun bir zamanda durumu padişah babasına anlatmış Eğer izin verirse Mine ile evlenmek istediğini söylemiş
Padişah:
“ Aman efendim ne demek? Biricik oğlum bir kız sevecek, evlenmek isteyecek de ben bu duruma evet demeyeceğim? Olur mu böyle şey?Sen kızı kendine layık bulduktan sonra biz üzerimize düşen görevi yapar gider kızı ana-babasından isteriz “ demiş ve kızı istemeye gitmek için sarayda yoğun bir hazırlığa girişilmiş
Bu hazırlıklardan memnun olmayan iki kişi varmış: Baş vezir ile kızı Canan Baş vezirin kızı Canan Şehzade’ yi çocukluğundan beri sever ve evlilik hayalleri kurarmış Şehzade’ nin bundan haberi yokmuş Baş vezir yanına kızını alarak saray yakınlarındaki eski bir evde tek başına yaşamakta olan Bilge Çileli’ ye gitmiş Bilge Çileli Baş vezir ile kızının anlattıklarını büyük bir dikkatle dinlemiş
Baş vezir:
“ Şehzade’ nin o kıza olan sevgisini azaltacak ve benim kızımı sevmesini sağlayabilecek bir ilaç hazırlayabilir misiniz? “ diye sormuş Bilge Çileli biraz düşündükten sonra:
“ Sayın Baş vezir “ demiş “ istediklerinizin gerçekleşmemesi için hiçbir neden yoktur Böyle bir ilacın bileşim formülü ve hazırlanması için gerekecekler bende mevcuttur İlacınızı yan odada hazırlarken sizin burada beklemeniz gerekecek İzninizle “
Şehzade her gece uyumadan önce bir bardak su içermiş Baş vezir fırsat buldukça bu suyun içine hazırlanan ilaçtan birkaç damla karıştırmaya başlamış İlaçlı suyu içen Şehzade’ nin hemen uykusu gelirmiş ve sabaha kadar uyurmuş Böylece günler geçmiş Daha sonra oğlan tarafı gidip Mine’ yi babasından istemişler Söz kesilmiş Nişan ve düğünün bir arada bir ay sonra sarayda yapılması kararlaştırılmış Baş vezir ise Şehzade’ nin içtiği suyun içine ilacı karıştırmaya devam etmiş
Nihayet düğün günü gelmiş çatmış Sarayda eğlenceler devam ederken bir aralık Baş vezirin kılık değiştirmiş olarak sarayın arka kapısından çıkıp bir ata binerek uzaklaştığını kimse fark etmemiş Baş vezir az sonra Bilge Çileli’ nin evine varmış Bilge Çileli kapıyı açınca Baş vezir selam verdikten sonra sadece “ Neden? “ diye sormuş
Bilge Çileli:
“ Sayın Baş vezir “ demiş anlatacaklarımı dinlerseniz sanırım bana hak vereceksiniz Kapıda kaldınız gelin içeride konuşmamıza devam edelim”
Bilge Çileli ile Baş vezir bir saati aşkın bir süre konuşmuşlar Bilge Çileli konuşmasının bir bölümünde Şehzade Selim’in zaman zaman kendisine uğradığını çeşitli konularda fikir ürettiklerini ve bilgi alışverişinde bulunduklarını Şehzade’ nin Mine’ yi tanıdıktan sonra hep ondan bahseder olduğunu söylemiş İster istemez bu kızı merak etmeye başladığını bir gün Mine’ lerin evine Tanrı misafiri olarak gittiğini kılık kıyafetine bakıp kapıdan çevrilmediğini sofraya buyur edildiğini Mine ve ana-babasıyla konuşup dertleştiklerini Mine’ nin bazı konularda özgün fikirleri olduğunu kısaca Mine’yi Şehzade Selim’ e layık bulduğunu; fakat önemli olan Şehzade’ nin kiminle evlenmek istediğiydi demiş
“Canan’la beraber bana gelmeden önce Şehzade Selim geceleri uykusuz kaldığını rahat uyuyamadığını söylemişti Size verdiğim ilaç uyku ilacıydı Sonradan Şehzade’ nin uykularının düzene girdiğini öğrendim Sayın Baş vezir meseleler kimseye zarar verilmeden sonuçlanırsa çözüm başarılı olmuştur İstediğiniz olmadı diye bana kızmanız gerekmez Ben doğru olanı yaptım Olanlar tamamen aramızda kalacaktır Bunları en başında anlatsaydınız olmaz mıydı diye soracak olursanız cevabı değişik arayışlar içine girmenizden çekindim diyebilirim “
Bunun üzerine Baş vezir göz pınarlarında biriken iki damla yaşı sildikten sonra:
“ Sözlerinde tamamen haklısın Bilge Çileli Benim için bu konu burada kapanmıştır Kızımla da konuyu etraflıca konuşup tek taraflı sevmenin sevgi çiçeğini yeşertmeyeceğini zamanla sararıp solmasına neden olacağını uygun bir dille anlatacağım Her şey gönlünce olsun Şimdilik hoşça kal ” demiş ve saraya geri dönmüş
Düğün eğlenceleri kırk bir gün kırk bir gece devam etmiş Şehzade Selim ile Feslikancı Kızı Mine evlenerek muratlarına ermişler

Cindirella
Once upon a time a lovely girl called Cinderella lived with her stepmother land two proud land ugly stepsisters. They made her work hard all day, and in the evening she had to sit among the cinders. One day the king’s son gave a Ball to which everyone was invited. What an unhappy day that was for Cinderella! She worked harder than ever for her stepmother and two vain stepsisters, preparing their finest gowns for the Ball.
When everyone had left for the Ball, Cinderella sat sadly by the fire and began to cry. Suddenly, in a bright flash, a lovely lady appeared. “I am your fairy god mother,” she said. “Why are you crying?” “Because I want to go to the Ball, but I have no dress to wear,” said Cinderella. “I will help you,” said her Godmother. “Hurry and bring me a large pumpkin, some white mice and a rat.” Cinderella quickly brought the things to her Godmother.
Waving her magic wand, the fairy Godmother turned the pumpkin into a golden coach, the rat into a fine coachman, and the white mice into handsome white ponies. Cinderella’s ragged clothes became a beautiful ball-gown, and on her feet were sparkling glass slippers. “Be off, Dear Child,” said the Godmother, “but remember whichever happens, you must leave before the clock strikes twelve, or everything will turn back the way it was.
When Cinderella arrived at the Ball, she looked so lovely that everyone turned to gaze at her. The Prince was so enchanted tat he danced only with Cinderella. In her happiness, the hours slipped by until she suddenly heard the clock striking midnight. Remembering her Godmother’s words, Cinderella fled from the palace, and, in her haste, she lost a slipper. The Prince ran after her, but all he found was the tiny glass slipper.
The next day the Prince searched everywhere for the owner of the slipper, declaring he would marry only the lady whose foot it fitted. When the Prince came to Cinderella’s house, the ugly sisters tried to force their bulging feet into it. But they were much too big. Finally Cinderella tried, and it fit perfectly! The Prince was overjoyed and asked Cinderella to be his bride. There was rejoicing throughout the land, and they lived happily ever .

Rapunzel
There once lived a couple who longed to have a child. Finally, their wish came true.
As the wife waited for the child to be born, she sometimes stared out the window at the garden next door. In it grew some delicious-looking rapunzel lettuce.
But the garden belonged to a witch, and no one dared to go into it.
Soon, the wife could think of nothing but that lettuce. She grew paler and paler. Finally, her worried husband decided to sneak into the garden after dark and pick some.
His wife ate it all, but it only made her want more. So the husband went back to the garden. But this time, the witch caught him.
“How dare you steal my rapunzel!” she screeched.
The terrified husband told her of his wife’s craving.
“Take all the lettuce you want, then,” said the witch. “But in return, you must give me the child.”
The poor man agreed.
As soon as the child was born, the witch took it away to raise as her own. She called the baby girl Rapunzel. Rapunzel grew to be so beautiful that the witch decided no one else must ever see her.
So when the child reached the age of twelve, the witch shut her in a tower deep in the forest. The tower was very tall, and had no door. Poor Rapunzel had no way of escaping.
When the witch came to visit, she called, “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair.” Then the girl threw her long braid out the window, and the witch climbed it to the top of the tower. A few years later, a prince happened to be riding through the forest. From a distance he heard Rapunzel singing to amuse herself. He was immediately drawn to the beautiful voice, but once he found the tower, he could find no way in. The prince could not stop thinking about the voice in the tower. Every day he would go back to listen and every night he would leave brokenhearted. He still could find no way in.
Until one day from his hiding place, he saw the witch and heard her call.
“Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair.” Then a long braid fell from the window all the way down to the ground.
“If that’s the rope to climb, I’ll try it,” the young prince thought to himself.
As Soon as the witch had gone, the prince repeated her call.
“Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair.”
Then he climbed the long braid to the top.
At first Rapunzel was frightened, as she had never before seen a man. But the prince told her how he had been drawn to her sweet voice and asked her to marry him. Rapunzel liked him better than the witch and agreed.
But she still had no way to leave the tower. The prince promised to bring a ball of silk each time he came to visit so she could weave a ladder and escape.
The prince visited every night, and Rapunzel kept his visits a secret. But one day, without thinking, she blurted out to the witch, “Why are you so much heavier than the prince?”
“How dare you trick me!” screamed the witch, and in a fury, she cut off Rapunzel’s long hair. The witch laid an evil spell on Rapunzel that sent her to a far-off land.
Then she tied the long braid to the windowsill and waited for the prince. Only as he climbed through the window did he realize he had been tricked.
“Your little songbird is gone,” cackled the witch, “and you will never see her again!”
The prince was beside himself with grief and leapt from the tower window. He survived the fall by landing in a thornbush, but the thorns scratched his eyes. The prince was blinded! How would he ever find Rapunzel now?
For months to come, the prince wandered blindly through the forest, weeping. Whenever he met people along the way, he would ask if they had seen a beautiful girl named Rapunzel, and he would describe her to them. But no one had ever seen her.
Then one day, the prince heard someone singing a sad but beautiful song. He recognized the voice at once and ran towards it, calling out Rapunzel’s name.
Rapunzel rushed into the prince’s arms and cried tears of joy at finding her beloved. But as her tears fell on the prince’s eyes, a strange thing happened – the prince could see again!
Rapunzel and the prince found their way back to the kingdom. Soon they were married and lived happily ever after..
